Cracker Barrel Newport News, VA feedback

Can anyone tell me if the CB in Newport News, VA is a decent place boon dock? Heading on to Cape Charles next day.

I can't comment on CB. You might check out Newport News City campground. 5 minutes off of 64. Easy in easy out.

We have stayed there a number of times was quiet and a nice place to stay.
Also stayed at bass pro in ashland, VA. Was also a great place to stay, very quiet and level.

As far as food goes, Cracker Barrel is about the most consistent place to eat anywhere.

We used to run out late nights to the original Hwy 109 Cracker Barrel restaurant in Lebanon, Tennessee when we were out on the town in Nashville in 1970. The recipes are still essentially the same.

After reading so much on here over the years about Cracker Barrel being a nice alternative to Walmart for a quick overnighter, I stopped at one near Springfield, MO earlier this month. All of the clearly marked RV/bus only spots were occupied by cars. So much for that. Ended up at a Walmart down the road in Marshfield.

In my experiance Cracker Barrel is not a good alternative for Walmart for overnighting.

I used to waste my time at Cracker Barrels trying to find a place to overnight.

I never found a Cracker Barrel RV/BUS space with out cars parked in it, (and they are difficult to navigate TO... and INTO)...until 1/2 to an hour after the restaurant has closed for the night.... (usually 11:30 PM - midnight).

BTW their RV/BUS spaces are seldom long enough for my 35' coach with my toad attached.

Find a Walmart...(save yourself some time, and a whole lot of aggravation)!

We've overnighted at that CB a few times, never use the RV parking spots. We pull along the back side and park in a out of the way area. I don't know how big your rig is but we're at about 43' with the toad.

Boon dock is the wrong term. CB or walmart is just a place to sleep for the night. Not camping with slide outs and picnic chairs or such. Find a camping facility for more than a few hours rest.

Some consider just a place to sleep for the night "boondocking overnight" or "dry camping overnight".

Think of just parking overnight without amenities, but using any amenity if/when available, (electricity when in a friends driveway for example), as one night of Independent Overnight Parking.
