Cure for the Deficit

You know I think I may have a cure for the deficit without any cut in spending and no tax increases. Are you ready? How about a 50% tax on all political advertising. The estimate is that this presidential election will cost over $2 billion. There's a billion in additional revenue and by the time you add in all 435 House elections and the Senate and even the state governors and local elections we'd have a good dent into the deficit. Besides, maybe it would stop some of those incredible annoying ads and even the phone calls at dinner time.

Now, don't delete this because it's not political for one party or the other and it is said totally tongue in cheek.....well, maybe not totally!

I'd support it, kinda like a tax on lying, as I think thats what constitutes the bulk of political ads.

I suppose I'm just dreaming that the politicians would ever do anything that wouldn't be self serving.

I really do worry about the future of this country and my kids and grand kids. I wonder what we'll do when the money is gone.

Love it ...

My husband always says, the way to fix SS is to get rid of the govt pensions and put them on SS .... it would be fixed in no time.

I agree, take away their pension, make them live on SS, take away their fancy Govt healthcare, let them use the same healthcare that the soldiers use. Can't stand, and don't trust politicians from any political party.
