I agree,
My English teacher would have had me in front of a blackboard after school writing "Regardless" a hundred times.

Oxford now has -
Usage
Irregardless is widely heard, perhaps arising under the influence of such perfectly correct forms as irrespective, but should be avoided by careful users of English. Use regardless to mean ‘without regard or consideration for’ or ‘nevertheless’.

But other lexicons will allow that irregardless is a word - but substandard or some such nonsense - and usually ending in regardless is preferred. Won't be long before ir- is preferred.

Let's face it - irregardless means the opposite of what it is portrayed as meaning - and will eventually mean what is not - regardless; irrespective of your teachers best efforts.

Yea - that's the ticket. Put your hand in the tiger cage and feed the gorillas.

We'll just keep posting grammar nonsense until it's time to "fall back."
