In the same manner in which ireguardless is a word. The number of daylight hours are not influenced by the time on a clock any more than regardless is changed by adding irr to it's spelling.

I couldn't help but notice that you could care less.
And I HATE the time change. Forward or back...just LEAVE IT.

You got me there. I live in Central Time, Work Eastern Time, Many Moons Ago born in Pacific Time, lived in Mountain Time numerous years. Springing forward and Falling back doesn't phase me. But I don't think I could handle living in Eastern Time. 11 O'Clock News - late Night shows are all an hour later than Central Time but work starts at the same time. That's one hour ya can't regain sleep or prolong daylight. I'm sure it's fine for those who live there - but it would be tough on me....

OK, I was being a wiseguy about "irregardless" and "could care less," two of my top 10 pet peeves. (DST comes in at #9.)

News is a 24 hour business these days :(. Late night shows are best watched in DVR . One hour show only takes 41 minutes.

Well, duh, I meant that the changing of the clocks signals (to me) that the daylight hours are getting longer than the DARK hours.

Ahhh.... Now ya really got me. I took a short nap and thought I was awake when I replied. Apparently I was posting while less than awake. The ir- gets me too. What also gets me is how misused and made up words become acceptable after a time. They actually gain approval and are added to the dictionary when it becomes obvious people can't be taught - or as they say they become acceptable.
