Most people don't go out drinking until after dark and until a couple years ago, last call was 1 AM. DST cut into bar profits with a shorter drinking time.
Seriously? Can you provide any references?

Btw, last call changed to 2 AM in 2004. It was about three years ago that the earliest one could buy booze on Sunday was changed from 10 AM to 6 AM, the same as the rest of the week. I believe the restrictions on buying booze until after the polls closed on election days were also lifted around then.

No I can't. It's been too long ago that I heard or read that. It may not be the reason anymore.

Don't know if it was smart or not, but I had a lot of friends on election day.

Many, many years ago, when Smitty's had Miller Lite for $2.34/6 pack, I bought 10 cases and had them bring them out on a dolly and load them on my Moped. The next year when they were $2.44/6 pack, I bought 20 cases. I saved over $80/10 cases each time and figured I'm going to drink that many anyhow, and if it kills me, my brother would drink them.

That would have been many, many years ago if you got them at Smitty's! I would have loved to have seen you going down the road with 10 cases on a moped!
