I planned on watching the Daytona 500, but it seems that I'll only get to see about 200 laps of the race with all those blasted commercials.

It's only 200 laps long...2.5 mi x 200 = 500
Better go get another umbrella..

These races are starting to remind me of wrestling. Meaning how they seem to be staged at the end with all the yellows, gimme a break.,

With 100 hours of broadcasting on SPEED they analized the fun out of the Daytona 500. Remember when ESPN needed NASCAR to fill its time with live programing. Its not that I don't like NASCAR races ,what I don't is all the experts telling me what is going to happen and then there is a wreck, they are all wrong and they all have to reload with more B.S.

I heard that this Daytona would be one to remember. It seems to me they did not do any racing until the last 20 laps. I thought the race was very boring. I think they need to go to the cars of yesterday as in the earily 1960's

Tom </div></BLOCKQUOTE>You know, I was wondering if anyone else thought that as I was thinking the same thing, I believe I slept through at least half of it. If you hadn't turned it on until the last 50 laps you wouldn't have missed much.

Kind of like the 2 minute warning in football.

You usually see more football in those 2 minutes than you see in the rest of the game.

I am glad that there was no mention of stockcars in the above posts. The cars are just not what they used to be, not stock and not a representation of the brand/model they want to represent. Anouther example of more money and disreguard for tradition.
or maybe I am just old!!!

Nope they are not stock cars any more. We now have had three boring races this season. The last race was a sell out so NASCAR is not going to change anything.
