Angry Dealers between a rock and a hard place!

Interesting article on dealer problems obtaining financing for floorplan and for their customer purchases. Seems that they are in a "Catch 22". Is a demise of the entire industry on the horizon. It describes the domino effect better than any politician could!

Well, the people that are able to pay "cash" for a new unit are going to be the ones to get the great deals. The dealers will be rolling out the red carpets for them. There are still people who believe it or not pay cash for all their toys. I know my parent were given an outstanding offer on a new 09' National RV motorhome, I just don't know how it would be warranteed, And the dealer they received the offer from has a bad reputation.

I realize this question cannot be answered, however I would be interested in knowing how many units were sold in the past that would meet the new criteria the various financial institutions are imposing?

BTW Jim, I would have your parents check out the National unit very carfully. The factory stoped producing units in Nov 2007, I would boubt any 2009 units were manufactured.

Some companies survived the 1973 crisis, the 1979 crisis, etc. Other companies failed and new companies formed. Orphan RVers continued to find parts and kept traveling. I suspect this will be no different.
