Had a wineguard sk3005 slimline installed on my RV I have direct tv in the house. What hd receiver works best. We have a swm that does not work.

You need a non-SWM receiver unless you're going to install an SWM8 switch. You probably want an HR24, and you'll need a BBCs as well. You'll need two cables from the dish to the receiver for best operation.

B-Band Converter. It's an in-line device that does a frequency shift on the satellite signals. Needed on non-SWM receivers when connected to a dish that has both Ku and Ka LNBs. Some receivers have the BBC built-in. You need a BBC on each satellite input.

What dish and receiver do you have in your home setup? Is that an SWM setup?

Yes it is. Just had camping world tell us we need a dr13 but find h-23 But it says that b-band converter no longer included. Use 38300 if needed?

What's a DR13? The D12 is the current non-HD receiver, and the R22 is the non-HD DVR. The H24 is the HD receiver, and the HR24 is the primary HD DVR. I think the H23 is an older model receiver.

Yes, the 38300 is Camping World's part number for a B-Band Converter. Personally, I would never buy any of this stuff from Camping World. There are lots of DirecTV dealers out there. Heck, the BBC only is a couple bucks cheaper at weaknees.com (DIRECTV B Band Converter (BBC) Module SUP-2400).

Will try. Meant to type that CW said we did NOT need b band. So we did not get one. Very frustrating to say the least. Pay all that money and it does not work. Hate to drive the RV back to CW it is 2 hr drive Not so much the as the gas Is the SWM a factor? It so no on the site but a yellow paper on our paperwork says it will not work on SWM. The h24 is not listed but has SWM 1 where you plug in the wires

The 3005 is not an SWM dish, so that should not be an issue. The HR24 can use either an SWM dish (plugged into the SWM 1 port), or a non-SWM plugged into both ports.

No good reason to drive the RV back to CW, if you have a BBC at home.

Just to clarify - the dish is locking onto the sats OK, right? It's just not seeing all the transponders or getting all the channels?

Are you getting a picture now? If your controller is showing you locked on to the satellites but your still getting no picture you probably need to go through satellite dish setup on your receiver.

You will need to select the correct dish type for everything to work correctly. The satellite dish setup you need to select is dish type 04: Slimline-5 and the switch type is 02: Multiswitch. The setup page will also tell you if you need the B-Band converters. If your using a DVR make sure you also select dual tuners.

Good Luck and let us know if everything is working correctly.
