Try to find an Ameican flag made in ........ America. Lots of folks want our government to buy American but then complain when they don't accept the low bid.

It is fustrating to go to a local to the area gift shop and the only things they have for sale is stuff made elsewhere.

We do the same. Why would I want a souvenir from China? If it is a pressing need I will go to China and buy it.

There is always some locally made trinket that makes a good Souvenir. I also check the origin of things in the any store. If we would all do the same, then maybe we would get more USA stuff.

Americans want a strong dollar. The stronger the dollar is the more it will buy Americans abroad. And the cheaper it will be at home. WalMart is supposed to be a prime example of economical offshore goods.

Manufacturers will produce and sell what we will buy.

If given a choice between two articles and the only difference is price generally one will pick the cheaper item.

We normally try to shop for things made at "home" but have found that it does not necessarily always mean better quality.

I agree. We all have the final choice in how we spend our money and I often just walk away without buying anything. Then there is the tip jar at the cash register, I do not put in that either. Down to my choice and I choose to get what is best for me or I choose to not buy at all. Besides, how many T-shirts do you need or coffee mugs and can openers and key chains? Especially in a MH.

Happy New Year everyone! Lynne
