The DW and I discussed this and knowing that the couple had gone through some very rough times as of late (death in family, lost job ect) that we would loan them ours. Well, today is the day that they leave for there local Trip (not so local, 4hr drive up the Coquihalla hwy) and 2days has turned into 4. Morally we believe, it was the right thing to do. What goes around comes around. I have given the driver a 3hr orientation on how the systems operate (how to set up and tear down) The driver has had limited large rig driving experiance. (uhaul) We know that costly problems could happen, but pray that they have a great Family experiance with no issues. Have you done this, and what was the outcome? If you haven't done this would you consider it?
Thanks,

Loan out to someone that can BUY it.

I used to lend out a set of special sockets.
I put a quarter in the bottom of the case.
If the tools came back with the quarter, I would lend them out
to that person again.

Alas.....I lent them out to another person,,,,,,and NO QUARTER OR TOOLS
CAME BACK

I would never do it. Too much invested and a good way to lose friends. Just say NO....

Haha... In my case, loaned about $800 to my Brother and another $800 to my Dad. Result, my Brother returned a little, but not all, my Dad never returned any... That was maybe 20 yrs ago. Regardless, they are still my Brother and Dad... On the other side, I loaned $30K to my Daughter and my SIL, they returned every dime over a two year period... Love it when that happens... I don't plan to loan my RV either.

Ted, I am happy it worked out good.

Now it's close to our turn, we leave for Kannanaskis( Rockies) one week today.

Thank you all for your replies, thoughts and prayers for our Babies safe return.

Ted and Darlene

Good to hear everything worked out.
We just came back from the Kannanaskis. If you want to take your time getting there and stop over night about half way, the Cedars campground just east of Sicamous is a good place to stop.
Have a safe trip.
Cheers
Dave

Ditto. I actually feel relieved. Now we can pack up and off on our adventure. Might see you in Rockeys. Who knows?

You are a very generous couple. I am happy for you everything worked out well. Most of the time it does.

Our children have made noises that they would like to borrow our units. It will not happen as they have a different user mentality than we do (something that we did not teach them). They use items so they can be replaced, we use items so they can be kept.

They will hint but not ask. We will not offer.

Ted and Marlene,

So glad your MH came back to you safely and your friends had a great time. I still don't think I will lend mine out, when I get it, but never know.

I have lent too many things over the years and neither got them back or came back damaged. It has affected friendships because they felt they should not have to replace or repair.

CONGRAGULATIONS! Lynne
