How old are you guys??? LOL

My first car was a 63' Buick LeSabre. I do remember the cars from the 50's my dad owned. The front chrome bumper of his 57' Buick Century probably outweighed most of the cars today. I'll never forget the day my brother and I were out for a drive with my Dad on the highway and we are standing on the back seat leaning over the front and Dad saying to us "Watch boys, let's see what this thing will do" and we watched as the speedometer quickly went right around past the bottom and stuck there at over 120 mph and it was still going faster. No seat belts, no fear, just really fast.

I liked convertibles, 47 & 50 chevy, (First date with DW was in the 47 chevy), a 49 plymouth-(top blew off in a snowstorm going home on leave).
Favorite and fastest was 57 Olds w/ 3 2bbl's (J-2 engine). This color but also a convertible.

Hallock5- Locally there is a car club with restored, antique and custom cars, meets every Saturday evening in the shopping center about a mile from here..

What fun they were. 1954 Plymouth Belevedere 2-dr Hdtp, 1956 Dodge Royal, 1961 Dodge (ex State patrol car), 1962 Plymouth Sport Fury-361 Golden Commando-My favorite, 1970 Duster and on and on. Since my family owned a Mopar dealership from 1947 to late 60's I guess you could say I was a Mopar Man. Loved it. Great pics.

Can someone tell me what I need to see this. All I get is a solid black screen with a search box and "Please see my other sites" or some such? My 1st 2 cars were from the 50s, 55 Buick Special Riviera, 59 T-bird convertable.

It might have something to do with your browser settings. Java Script or something. Don't know. Do you get music?

My first wheels were a '40 Ford Coupe. It was kind of strange to start out with a classic. Too bad I wasn't smart enough to keep it. Most of my cars were MoPars. Darts and Chargers for the most part. Fun cars that luckily I didn't kill myself in them.

Great pics! That blue 47/48 Ford coupe looks exactly like my car, back in the day. Except, mine wasn't chopped. I also had a 49 Chevy coupe. But I couldn't afford all that chrome and suped-up engine stuff. The first car I ever wrecked, was a 37 Ford Coupe. It belonged to my brother! Boy was he mad! Brings back a lot of memories.

Hmmm, suicide knobs? We called those necking knobs. So he could turn corners and keep his arm around his honey... DH still drives with one on every vehicle we own.

Those were the days when your car wasn't cool unless you had an aahhhoooga horn, dual exhausts and loud mufflers among other accessories.
