They have moved to self serve. The one cashier at the super center is very busy stocking shelves, running the pharmacy, doing eye exams, unloading trucks, collecting and returning carts, monitoring the pumps at the fuel stop and also filling in for McDonalds in her spare time. Why, did you need some help with something?

Bash all you want, but I have always recieved prompt and courteous service in Walmart, no matter where in the country I was at the time.

Ask them where something is, and they will walk you to the proper shelf.

I'm the Regional Director (Ret) for Walmart greeters in the Northeast. Do you need a job? Free camping?

Do you? I have relatives and friends that do. If I needed a job I would be happy to work there if I could get hired and had no better option. Not sure how you meant you question to be taken but I really don't look down on anyone that works for a living.

Most on here do not "camp" at Walmart. They rest or park over night in a Walmart parking lot with permission from management.

I just started working part time at Wal-Mart. I do not want this thread to turn into another Wal-Mart bashing.
I have been without a full time job with benefits since October 2008. After 4 years of looking for a job with some benefits I have found one. As far as I'm concern I can still keep looking for a full time job with benefits.
I was 42 when I was laid off now I'm 46. Since October 2008 I have worked 8 different part time jobs. Nobody is forcing anyone to shop at Wal-Mart or for that matter any other store. It's a choice we all make.

Working and collecting a pay check beats subsistence any day!

Less strain on an already strained system.

Good on ya for wanting to be employed.
