Does MASA actually provide the service they say they do

We have been contemplating buying a Medical Services plan & from what hubby & I have read & heard (through a dinner presentation) it seems that MASA has the least (if any) exclusions.

There were a couple of "members" at the presentation but nobody actually had ever used their service who could attest to whether or not they had first hand experience with getting the needed services.

It's easy to say we do it all & you don't have to worry but DO THEY????

If anyone actually has a MASA membership & have used the services please tell me what your experiences were.

Thanks

I also went to one of those dinner party presentations and got all the brochures and info. I decided not to go with it. Too expensive for me anyway. The chances of needing and using MASA services are rather slim if you really think about it and they bank on that just like any insurance company. There are other medical assist programs out there if you look. They might not have private airplanes but they take care of you.

Thanks, I really know the pros & cons I was just looking for someone's personal experience who has used their service. I know many of the have lots of exclusions which are clearly state. MASA does't which makes me want feedback from people who have actually had to use the services.

I have personally been seen in an ER in a remote area. All they could do was tests & they determined I needed more specialized care that could only be done in a big city, not a small county hospital. It was ambulance, helicopter or drive at least 8 hours. They didn't think it was life threatening so we opted to drive & they did make arrangements with a specialist at the hospital closest to where we live who was going to meet us at the ER when we got there.

We do know people in some of our RV groups over the years who have had medical emergencies. In both cases it required medical transport & in 1 case the wife could not drive the motorhome so they transported the motorhome. So, the odds might be slim but it does happen. Unfortunately I have no idea what company was used to provide these services nor do I know if they had coverage for the fees.

So, if anyone has actually used these services please provide me with some feedback as to how they handled the services & were the services all completely covered or were there exclusions & problems getting things paid or reimbursed.

Thanks,
Nedra
