We had good words like ''naw'' which is the past tense of ''NO''
Words like ''DRUTHER'' which is a protruding adjetive meaning ''WOULD YOU PREFER'' and ''HADDRUTHER and HATEN'TDRUTHER'' is the past tense of the word meaning ''Yes I prefer'' or ''No I do not prefer''
The word ''JEW'' meaning ''would you''.... Used like .... ''Jew wanna go to the flick''
''Flick'' means movie and the ''Five and Dime'' meant the dime store like Kress.
''OTTA'' is a contractual word used ''HATTEN OTTA'', ''SHOULDNT OTTA'' and of course ''COULDEVER OTTA'' which is the declaritive tense of ''could have but should have''.
''Y'ALL'' and ''YOUALL'' are multimeaning words to identify two people or two thousand people. Can be used with one gender or two genders.
''DENT'' a word for ''did not''
''OTTEN NOT TO''.... means you should not do a particular thing or action.
''OTTEN TO'' ..... means there is something you should do....
''ANTAGONA''... means you refuse to do a particular thing or action ...
''NOT- DONE- IT''.... a contraction of three words meaning something didnt happen.
''DID-TOO-DONE-IT'' the standard retort to ''Not Done it''....
You had to speak the ''language'' in our neighborhood or you were considered an ''Outsider''.... (someone from a few blocks away)

God bless our troops and bring them home now please......

When the family couldn't recall someone's name after three attempts, we'd say "Claire" and move on.

When finished making a point in a discussion and checking to see if everyone understood,
we'd ask: "You smell me?".

When there was a 1997 Monaco Dynasty in the family, we affectionally called it the "Da Nasty".

In SW FL there is an excellent restaurant chain named Lazy Flamingo, our nickname: "Dirty Bird".
If you ever find yourself in the Ft Myers, Sanibel or Captiva area, do yourself a favor and plan a meal at one of the Lazy Flamingo locations.
Go with the fresh seafood on the board and gotta have the garlic bread.

We always liked word games. When traveling down the road we would frequently play Password, loved it and had a blast.
