To answer the OP's question....our three dogs (German Shepherd, Black Lab, Golden Retriever) have free roam of house and RV. Amazingly, they don't get on the furniture very much at all in either, though. The lab does like the leather sofa in the RV though when on the road. When camped with the slides open, then she stays on the floor, but it's her choice.

Our pugs take turns in Moms lap.
Somethimes all will go to slep in soft sided kennel. Stella the youngest has learned to jump on furniture. The oldest 11 years old can jump but perfers to be lifted up. The 11 month old doesn't seem interest in jumping.

Mention 'dogs' in any post and you will get a ton of responses!

My house & MH is for the comfort of my dogs (Poms, Chi & Sheltie) . They are allowed on furniture and bed.

I do put blankets down on the furniture to protect them and use a walk-through gate to keep them out of the bedroom during the day.

I do use crates when traveling, for their safety.

My boxer/pit mix is allowed any place she desires but normally at home and in the 5th wheel she camps out on the couch, funny though she will not come into the bedroom in either the rig or at home. My last dog a purebred boxer was the same, just would not come into the bedroom.

Like our human family members, allowed to roam and park anywhere except where food is prepared or served.

Our pugs help prepare all the food by adding just a touch of hair to give everything a little body[emoji12] Click image for larger version

No dogs on the furniture at home...she will be invited occasionally to the couch but she knows she has to be invited.

She’s completely not interested in the RV furniture...but we have a spot for her favorite mat in front of the TV and she’s content.

When my Pitbull was still alive, he stayed in living room with the female Chihuahua at night on the sofa for about 8 years. When he passed, she moved into the bedroom with us and sleeps with us both locations.

She's 8 lbs and about the size of my size 16 shoe.
