Dometic Fridge Question
Just need a little advise or question answered. I have a Dometic rm2652 fridge. the unit was not used for 2years and now the best i can do temp is 10 in the freezer and about 48 in the fridge I tried running on gas and got the same results any idea where to go now with tracking down the problem thanks

Check in outside access door to refrigerator back and be sure it's clean and not full of cobwebs or other things blocking free ventilation out roof vent. In addition, check the manual for other troubleshooting tips about not cooling properly. 10º for freezer and 48º for refrigerator isn't too bad though.

Thank you for the link to the manual and i will check the vent i have to replace the vent cover anyway. i did not know what the temps should be its been almost 90 here and fridge is still holding the same temps.

I can not find any info on what the temp should be on these units I thoughg it was colder idk

I added some dryer duct to the cooling fans in back of our Dometic to direct the airflow so there is plenty of air over the finned condenser coil. Solved our problem, stays at 0 and 37 on setting 4 of possible 5.

You should reach 0-5 degrees in the freezer which would give you 30 - 35 degrees on the fins in the fridge, which in turn should give you 36 - 38 in the fridge. Make sure your RV is level or the refrigerator won't work properly also check the airflow over the condenser fins on the rear of the fridge.

Laso, note that the coldes part of the freezer is the floor. Keep the ice cream on the bottom! LOL

And plan your door openings to keep them to a minimum. Absorption refer's simply do not recover as quickly/easily as compressor type do.

Thankd for the advise. There seems to be nothing blovking the flow of sir in the bsck ip to the roog vent. Is it possible the thermistor is bad

Anything is possible. One way to check it might be to note what fin it's clipped to, then remove it from the fin. If there's any reserve cooling capacity available (if the thermistor is shutting the cooling unit down prematurely) box temp should start getting a little cooler.

I tried moving it up and down over a several day period and it made no changes to the temp in either place

Might be time to look into a fan or 2 to get some extra air circulating around the back side of the cooling unit, as well as inside?.
