Thats reprehensible. The American flag is subordinate to no other flag on American soil. I'd be tempted to self correct. If proper channels failed to correct such an appalling issue.

Agreed, if the balcony can be reached from the ground it would be down. The direct approach knocking on the door might work. You can always get an INS T-shirt and explain the problem.

I re-read this thread from the beginning. There are a lot of unanswered situations that I would be enthralled to know were corrected - anyone?

However, to the OP, I wish those same people would try that demeanor on a route that involves the "Run For The Wall." I'd like to see their expression when 300 motorcycles converge on them. I don't think the bikers would have any sympathy or compassion for their actions.

I'm glad you did what you did.

Thank you Sailor.

Once upon a time there was an old Squid (who's cajones were bigger than his brain) lived in an area where a neighbor's flagpole displayed a large Puerto Rican flag above a smaller American flag. Although informed a number of times regarding his error, the Puerto Rican refused to correct it and became belligerant over the issue.

A little over a month after the confrontation, the flagpole with a slip-knotted 100 foot long 1/2" rope and Puerto Rican flag was found some distance from where it originally stood.

Interestingly, an American flag that at one time flew under a Puerto Rican flag now flies from an old Squid's deck railing.

Lol and you mean 1/2" line ... We don't have "rope"in the Navy ... Perhaps a bucket of steam or even some water line and occasionally some flight line ... But never any "rope"

It was 'line' when in the Navy. It's sold as 'rope' now.
Why don't you go work on a Turk's Head or Monkey's Fist?

Ha ha! and the banter continues.

Bob, I wonder who moved that flagpole. If he is reading this, thank you.

Yes, the banter continues. And I would have it no other way.
It's a hoot to be at my MCL and Army bars where it starts all over again every time someone walks into the place. It lasts for less than a minute before we again enjoy the Camaraderie (until another walks in and the banter is resurrected for a while).

Although the furor and outrage over the flagpole incident took a while to diminish, the PR flag has not been seen again.
In a rare display of good sense, the guy who transplanted the flagpole is not verifying his role, despite the winks and nods of his other neighbors.

But I'm sure he'd appreciate the sentiment.
