You will find there are lots of joksters here who will nearly always give Baloney answers.
However you also get good stuff.
What you need (And in fact in all aspects of your life you need this) is "Baloney Filters" (i usually use a different term, One that refers to male bovine produced organic fertilizer)
When someone makes a joke.. You have 3 choices.
1: Laugh (Best choice)
2: Hit next (Ok choice) (Scroll down in the case of the software here)
3: Ignore user (Worst choice)
I have not heard back from my Drone expert.
My suspiscion is the drone has enough video bandwidth that the remote pilot has a good field of vision. But in truth, I'm guessing.

fact is its a search without a warrant of your property. don't think it wont happen because we are all good people.
more innocent people get arrested/detained/harassed/questioned everyday than bad guys
so have some fun
make your yard lights look like a landing strip
or layout your patio furnishings to resemble something its not.

No drone is needed to look in your back yard. Google maps has been doing it for years with satelites.

What length motor home do I need for a drone to land on the top? I'll paint a landing strip but I'm not moving the air conditioners!
(I guess a landing strip is better than a Bullseye.)

Geez, if you aren't doing anything wrong, and the darn things aren't making you crazy due to the noise they create, I fail to see the harm? But then paranoia has never been one of my shortcomings... and radio control has been a hobby for just about forever...
Now, if they're mixing it up with local airplane traffic in the vicinity of a small airport - I hope they are well insured, though I don't see that happening. Probably no more chance of hitting one of those than a big hawk, crow or goose - all of which are pretty capable of downing a plane.

I was down near Benson Arizona a couple of weeks ago and saw a drone guarding the border area. It appeared that it was not very high and it certainly was not in a high air traffic area. It was large enough that I could see it from several miles away. I would think that most pilots will either not be in the area or will be able to see the drone if they look out their front window. I don't imagine there is anything to worry about. I also imagine that airports in the area have notices posted for pilots to alert them to drones in the area. If there are drones around SeaTac I'll bet the air traffic controllers are very careful to route planes around them.

We used to handle it by putting the UAV in a "box", issued a NOTAM with times and the "box", essentially telling other A/C "there's a little aircraft in here - don't run into it".

Anyone ever dealt with the FAA? They elevate nitpicking to a new level.
Having dealt with them as a pro for a qtr of a century, I already know what they have in store: new regulatory guidance is addressed HERE. In short, you will be able to lunge at a UAV with a small aircraft, it will evade you.
If a UAV can send aid to my wife when it detects her skid off the road, or have police intercept the 100 mph driver who'd have otherwise killed her, sign me up.
As for the Orwellian predictions, don't fear. The very people who complain are the first to rely on security camera footage after an incident, like the elderly who forecast gloom and doom over public healthcare but gobble up socialized medicine in the form of Medicare by the truckload.
