Finally, finally we got rain and over 3 inches of a slow, ground absorbing rain. We had not had rain in a month and a half and my grass was brown, the dogwoods were dying, as were other plants. Now the soil is nice and wet. Halleujah!

Camping Dutchman, where do you live? I heard on the news that there is flooding in New York because of heavy rain. Similarly, my sisters live in Lenoir, N.C. where they had 6 inches of rain and some flooding. Evenso, my sisters were glad to have the water - now my brother-in-law can get back to his favorite past time, mowing the lawn.

We were camping in Lancaster PA over the weekend. According to the news Lancaster got 10+ inches of rain between Friday and Saturday. The campground we were at is surrounded on three sides by the Conowago River. Sat evening they were busy moving all the units from the lower sites next to the river. Over night Saturday the river had come out of its banks and those sites were completely under water. Luckily they were able to move all the RV's before the river flooded except one that was stuck in the mud and they couldn't move. We really needed the rain, but it would have been nice if we didn't get all at once.

Yup, it rained. WE picked up about 5 inches in a day. Really gives us a surplus for the year. Funny though, two real wet spell account for most of the total. We got hit in the spring with heavy rain and floods and now we got hit again.
