We were at the Koa two weekends ago. We actually live 5 minutes from that Koa.

Long before the new bridge was contemplated, we crossed the old bridges on Rt 17 in my 1990 GeorgieBoy.
There were 2 sets of double bridges across the river, they looked like McDonalds arches as you approached. The southbound (on the right here) was 2 lane, north was 3. Southbound - with my wheels on the centerline my mirrors were about 3-4 inches from the steel framework. Still had 4 wheelers squeezing by. Good to see the pretty new bridge....

Oh yes I drove those bridges all the time. Hated the south bound bridge.

there used to be only one bridge , the narrow one on the right side, you would see tire marks on the bridge railings, and broken mirror parts in the center. There was another one just as narrow north of Charleston in Georgetown, same results there. Frequent truckers would pull in their mirrors to save them.
