the legality of copying DVDs is questionable. Read this article from Jan. 2013 and decide yourself:

Is It Legal to Rip a DVD That I Own?

Not sure how that would apply to borrowed or rented DVDs, which is what the post referenced.

So I have read the article but I'm not sure still, plus the copies of DVDs I buy have 3 discs to them one says computer copy, blu ray copy and DVD copy. So if I put them on a hard drive which is basically an external hard drive isn't that the use for the computer disc I paid for? It's just not on my laptop or my big base thingy computer on my hard drive.

Fine you are right about that. I was more thinking of the space issue in the long run.

I haven't tried it.. but my daughter in law uses HULU a lot to watch oldies. Not sure what else is avail. I think it's free. She (and I) love the old Lucy vids.

Hulu is not going to work for RV'ers in general. Too much bandwidth for a campground Wifi connection, and you'd burn through a cell phone data allowance pretty quickly.
