Mineral Va is about 20 miles south of my home. Dishes fell off the shelf and all the junk in the medicine cabinet was in the sink or on the floor. Nothing broken here but some damage south of here. It was a little un-nerving for a few seconds.

I was in my car and never felt it, but other people I talked to did.

Another reason to own an RV, they're pretty earthquake resistant.

my youngest kid (17yo, 6'-2" and 260 lbs) had just gone around the corner and into the kitchen. i thought he was jumping up and down in there. i was about to tell him to knock it off when it got worse than i figured even he could manage, and i saw all the chandeliers swinging around. nope, not him!

that was fun!

Stopped at a traffic light in Warren, Pa (northwest corner of the state) and felt it.

We felt it big time in Wallops Island VA. walls and doors just a swimmin' , two waves, a couple of seconds each. I got out of the building quick. No damage in the end though.

Sitting at my desk in Northern VA, heard it coming, rode it out in my chair while the building rattled away. No big deal.

What is suprising is there is little mention of the fact there is a Nuclear Power Plant within 10 miles of the epicenter of yesterdays earthquake.

My youngest in Cimmaron, NM, which is south of Raton, felt the one down there around midnight. Must of been pretty good to wake him. When we had one in Iowa in the 80's it was like you were on liquid.

We were having trees cut down in Thornburg, VA at our campsite and one of the guys was 40' up a tree. Fortunately no injuries.

Over 20 after shocks to date.

Oh yeah. That was interesting. We live about 32 air miles from Cuckoo, the epicenter just a few miles south of Mineral. My home AC unit had just kicked on outside the kitchen window. At first I thought it was the problem, till stuff on the walls started shakin. Lasted about 45 long seconds.

Drive thru Mineral yesterday. Lots of old bldg brickwork down, front walls braced, and rebuilding already underway. The old mansion at Cuckoo intersection was hit pretty bad. Sad, but could have been worse.

Now we are waiting for the frogs and locusts. Have had the huge dismal swamp fire, earthquake and Irene in one week.............
