This whole deal was caused mainly by the director for Google in Egypt. When he was released from jail, it all went down.
The crowds never exceeded 200,000. That was a very small portion of the country.
The "Google" man was on tv calling for all "rich and educated Egyptians" to return back to Egypt. What are the odds of that happening ?? Slim to none you say.
The Egyptian Army is the best trained, best equipped, best officers and sergeants in all of Africa and ALL of the mideast. Military wise, Egypt is a powerhouse.
The Brotherhood holds about 20% of the legislature. They will eventually gain more power.
Our only hope is the Egyptian military. Hard to agree with that ? Just give it time.
No, it's not political in that sense, it's your grandsons and granddaughter burden.
JMHO and facts thrown in here and there. Yes, I know Military Intelligence is an oxymoron.

I wasn't taking about you, but the speaker on video. Charles Krauthammer. He is smarter than both of us put together.

Well, I know he is smarter than me and he has 3 million people a day listen to him as well as being in hundreds of newspapers. I am afraid he is right on this one.

Does anyone really believe that after 50 yrs of military running the country from behind the scene they will just evaporate?

Major industries in Egypt are owned by high ranking military personnel.

Why would they be willing to just “Go along with the program”?

The Egyptian armed forces are very close to the Americans. In fact when the uprising occurred twenty of their military leaders were here. We supported Mubarak because he made peace with Israel and we looked the other way. Mubarak was supported to the end by Israel and the other Arab Kingdoms. That's why Obama kept his distance.

The new military rule is not one man but a combination of their armed forces. There is no one general or admiral to step in. The younger generation wants change. The Egyptians are highly educated, many have come to our country. Many will return to rebuild their country.

True democracy will be difficult, they will have to work around the problems. But for us our carriers will continue to move through the Suez Canal. Often with ranking Egyptian officers invited to be on the bridge as they have been for long time. Remember we kicked France and England out of the Suez after WWII. They never forgot that but they certainly were getting impatient.

The outcome was the best one possible and now it may be the turn for other Arab Countries.

I find it very difficult to disagree with people seeking freedom so I remain cautiously optimistic.
