electronic leash free weekend

For two days we heading to the lake and turning off the electronic leash (phone) and TV. Getting back to fishing, sitting around the campfire enjoying nature. Play a little folk music on the string instruments. With hopes of a breeze to cool off the 90 degree heat a little. Summer is here and getting a little warm Time to head north and find some cool weather. A fishing trip to Minnesota for a month.

GREAT IDEA!!!

It's crazy when you find your self wanting to check your phone.. and then..... you don't have it.

It's a well worth endeavor.

Last year I did away with the smart phone and went back to the dummy phone. Don't miss the smart phone at all. The COE that we are staying at has no WIFI, so no computer either. That will be harder to give up then the phone

Why is it so hard for folks to just ignore the phones, gadgets etc.?

It is an inanimate object.....just a tool
A tool that one can choose to use or NOT

Maybe IF I hadn't been required as condition of employment to be 'just a phone call away' I would see the 'phone' issue differently......
BUT I don't have to answer it on penalty of discipline so I DON'T........voice mail handles that and I choose whether or not to call back IF I check the message

OP.....
Enjoy the weekend
Drown a couple worms for me
And FORGET about that phone

Not so much with the phone calls with me, I became addicted to the apps on the smart phone and it went every place with me. That's when I decided this was crazy and went to the dummy phone saved a bunch of money. Son in law works for AT&T it cost me $10.00 a month.

Her one child (40 years old) calls three times a day sometimes and she has to answer when the phone rings.

TV not a problem we like the radio. Don't have cable or dish at the house just OTA as I cant see paying for TV.

Will drown some worms for you

Dan,
