Expressing Opinions

Let's see now

If you complaint about something

You open yourself to criticism

If you praise something

You open yourself to criticism

If you use something

You open yourself to criticism

If you don't use something

You open yourself to criticism

Sometimes I wonder how we get along

Totally agree, I can't believe how snarky and rude the comments are on another RV site. Thanks moderators..

It's the times we're living in. There seems to be no place where one can express an opinion without being attacked. But sometimes I think that's the plan by some to stop ANY kind of an opposing point of view.

There is nothing wrong with criticism, that is how we became a great country as well as our neighboring country . Without it only a select few would rule and no one else would have a say so. (Did I just criticize your post on criticism?)

Criticism in itself is a good thing, but criticism with personal attacks are counterproductive. I believe we all get along as well as we do because on criticism. According to Wikipedia "Criticism is the practice of judging the merits and faults of something". I welcome this as I did in my past business life because the thoughts and ideas of the many is better than the thoughts of any one person.

X2.

Always a pleasure to get on iRV2 and read.

Face Book can get very contentious at times - even with a local thread in my area where people see each other from time to time. Amazing.

I have learned so much from this forum in the year and a half I have owned a motor coach.

Thank you iRV2 and its members..............See you in Elkhart.

I think some people have thin skins, are maybe offended too easily. Speaking for myself, when I share an experience, or an opinion in a forum, I actually enjoy other comments agreeing, disagreeing, or sharing similar experiences. I feel there is a lot to be learned from others? I don't know about everyone else, but that's why I'm here, and pretty much addicted to this place.

All I ask is that people stay civilized. There is no need to get, or take, things to a personal level. If the conversation seems to be heading in that direction, prior to get offended by it and returning fire (or leaving the conversation mad), make sure there hasn't been a misunderstanding! It's so easy when transferring thoughts to words....

I expect a difference of opinion with as many people as are on this forum. And, that is a good thing. It causes me to re-think and look at a situation differently. What I don't expect is to be told how wrong and stupid I am for thinking that way. That goes beyond difference of opinion and into criticism.

Just think about how boring life would be if we all thought the same way. ;-)

That said I agree with halfwright.

Opinions are like... well... noses. We all have one. Because someone's else's is different then mine doesn't make them wrong nor does it make mine right.
It is one thing to support an opinion with facts . It is an entirely different matter to disparage others opinions with simply more opinions.
The strength of belief in an opinion is simply the intensity of which you resist questions your self. .... Not mine and don't remember who said that.

Getting along is highly over rated. If we all got along we all would still be living in trees.
