I receive so many of these type messages that I don't bother posting about them. They're so easy to spot that no one should be fooled.

Norton stops pages that try to download or run malicious code.

I have gotten many E-mails trying to get me to log into a banks' fake page.. My favorite was the one I got that CLAIMED to be from Bank of America, Tellign me they were having problems accessing my account..

I'm sure they were having problems accessing my account with BoA.. You see.. I don't have one.

We have been notified quite a few times from our bank informing us of unusual activity on our credit card. They always call by phone. I always tell them that I really appreciate their monitoring of my cards activities and that I don't mind at all that they are on top of any unusual occurrences. Twice we had to change our card # for insurance. A minor nuisance but I'm sure it saved us from a larger headache.
If there is one thing that I noticed it's that when things are not important they come to us in the mail with all kinds of gimmicks to make us believe that they are important with wording like: Urgent, Priority, Special, etc. But when something is really important they come to us in a plain white envelope. At least that's what Fidelity does when they get in touch with me.

It's not funny, but I do get a chuckle out of the post. As everyone knows, scams have been going on for a very, very long time. Think back to the Nigerian 411 scam. (do a search on it) You may all have seen some type of Nigerian 411 scam in the form of someone telling you that they have a fortune and they need to get the money out of the country. It started out as Facsimile, then graduated to telephone, then to email. Originally the Secret Service was the law enforcement agency trying to track down the scammers, most out of the country. Now I believe it is in the hands of the Federa Trade Commision as the investigating authority.

Here is the ironic part. The Nigerian 411 scam was the 3rd per capita income making "business" in Nigeria. So yes, many many individuals have succumbed to that scam, and many more continue to do so for present day scams.

Unless somebody wants me to post it for reference, I just got another one for PayPal... also with good grammar and spelling. Yawn.

1st Source Bank is warning about this same thing.. Only the problem is Phone Calls asking you to press 1, then verify info by entering your card number and PIN ...

I got a call from chase (although it could have been wamu at that time) about charges for a lot of beer in tijiuana. I lived in Escondid, so not that far, but had used my card locally so there was no way I could have been in two places at once. Got the money refunded quickly.

People who take advantage of other people or try to, should be burned at the stake!

What's worse, is the creeps maggots that write or disperse viruses. My stomach churns and smoke comes out of my ears just thinking about them.

You should also send the email to abuse@chase.com when ever you think it may not be legit.

Dispise them as much as the jerks that go "all in" every hand... ugh, can't we just play some real poker! (I know that was probably waaaay OT but I just needed to vent... ahhh )
