Finally, some Warmer Weather.

According to the Chicago news it has been almost six months since we have seen a 70 degree day. This winter has been one of he most brutal that the regular folks that live in this area can remember. I live about 70 miles southwest of Chicago and this year we recorded over 85 inches of snow, which made this the third most snowiest winter on record. Well, we are getting ready to get our Fun Finder X camper out of storage and back in our driveway. In the meantime, we have a fire set up and going on our property, and I'm setting nest to it right now as I type. So who is with me, who is ready to say goodbye to winter and go do some camping, I know,we are.

We are about two hours farther south in Indiana and yes we are ready! In fact we are heading out the weekend in our MH. We did take a trip south earlier but that was a major undertaking because of the weather.

Whats an X camper?

Was brutal here in Janesville, Wi. too.. Inspected the trailer yesterday, found the linoleum raised and cracked, about 4 ft. long . Was warm enough to reglue, and hope it will be OK. Our first outing of the year with the Good Sam chapter is the week after Easter. Maybe the weather will cooperate. !!!!!!!!

Northern Alberta, has a late season winter storm moving south, might have enough momentum to cross the border, into your neck of the woods.
Sorry .

I've been ready since last October! Here is a pic of the weather we had last Sunday (April 13th.), all of the snow is gone today. Ended up having 2-ft. drifts. I actually even mowed yesterday (hate that as much of snow almost). Every day is one day closer though.

Just a thought; If the weather rodent had said , "12 to 15 more weeks of winter" instead of 6 weeks . Do you think he would have survived the day?

I am about 70 mi so of Chicago, just over the state line in IN.
Stayed all winter in a campground with about 300 sites.
A friend asked me to replace linoleum in his trailer, it split down the length of the whole room (16 ft).
He said he heard of 4 or 5 others here that linoleum did same thing.

Just wondering if there is a thread on this topic?

I went to talk to our dealer about the linoleum. They said 5 or 6 new trailers had the same thing happen. But ours is "out of warranty". So, if there is a thread on this, where would we find it ?

I used to have a mountain cabin , with a lino floor, that lifted regularly.
Freezing temps, for weeks at a time , between snowmobile visits, dried out the glue and the lino lifts.
The split down the middle would be the big question there, as most RV lino, is laid down wall to wall , before anything else is built inside.
Replacing sheet lino in that situation would be a real nightmare, I'd be looking into the vinyl board; 8"X 48" goes down like laminate flooring.
I haven't seen a thread on this topic, but you could start one.

94.8" in S.E. Michigan. It was a new record for us. And yes we are eager to get the MH out of storage. I need someplace to put all the camping stuff I bought over the winter.
