Has anyone installed floating laminated flooring in their motorhome. If so how has it worked out. Getting ready to try it I'm sick of carpet.

You might also consider vinyl plank, like Allure and Allure Ultra from Home Depot. I think Lowe's has their own brand. If you do a search for Allure, you'll find several threads, including photos and links to photo albums. My SO and I have just replaced all the carpet and vinyl in his new-to-us thirteen-year-old FW. Vinyl plank is a lot easier to cut and handle than laminate or wood.

You can probably find threads about using laminate and wood, too.

Used Costco Lam in my 2000 35' 5er with 3 slides. Looked and worked fine

rgvtexan, Wow! that sure looks good.

I too have been considering using a laminated floating floor in place of our carpet when it comes time for replacement. Did you have to do anything special to the slides to keep them from marking or scratching the laminate, or are they high enough to clear the surface when opening and closing them.

They cleared when opening, I had a new pice of carpet cut and bound to cover the gap on the couch side slide ~ 1.5 inche wider. the slide sits level when full open.

We replaced the carpet in our 2000 Pace a couple of years ago and it was a good move. The carpet we took out looked like crap and we could no longer clean it. We paid to get the floor installed and we love it. Willa will put down ''runners'' in front of the kitchen cooking area because that gets a lot of traffic. Ours is thick enough that if necessary it can be sanded and re finished in the future.
Personally, I hate carpet in a coach but that is just me....

Be careful with laminate or wood floor if your slide outs are the "flush" type and use skids instead of rollers. We put laminate in our coach and it is scratched. We do use an area rug over the laminate anyway so you can't see the scratches. The other problem with this type of install on this type of slideout is you must taper the leading edge of the flooring or you will damage the slide out when you bring it in.
