Florida Bound - Retired Baby Boomer with Toys!

We're having a custom home built down in the Lake Weir vicinity. The house we're building has about 2500 sq ft of living space and about 2500 sq ft of garage space, including a 45'x16'x16' RV garage with FULL HOOK-UPs. The RV garage along with the concrete visitors pad outside were poured to handle the increased weight of 5th wheels, our REDWOOD 38GK weighs in a 16,600lbs. The outside pad will also have water and 50amp service for our visiting RV friends. We will also have a screened-in solar heated pool just out the back of the lanai. Turn-key for the home should be in early March.

Lake Weir (Ocklawaha) Florida is a little over an hour NW of Orlando and about an hour from either coast. We're also about 10 minutes north of The Villages but we don't have any HOA restrictions as they have, but we can make use of their medical, retail, and entertainment infrastructure.

If you're a retired or soon will be retired baby boomer, you may want to check this place out.

Lake Weir Living : Marion County, Central Florida, FL.

You can also check out a recent video segment on our house on YouTube, search for:
  • Lake Weir Living 205
  • Lake Weir Living 209

The developer is a little eccentric on these video clips; however, they are totally professional when they're working through you home design and construction project with you; flooring, counter-tops, doors/windows, pool design, and sinks/and bathroom selections, etc. The different vendors have been great working through our selections.

Their contractor has been awesome also (having been a family run business since 1871). Up until recently, this company has been building $1.5+ million dollar homes and upper-end commercial projects bringing a higher quality of workmanship into these housing projects.

We have been totally satisfied and impressed with the whole project so far.

Just thought I would comment...
