Flu Shot?

So what do you all think? Get one or not? I got mine yesterday, so hopefully it will cover the strains going around this season and I will be covered. How about you?

DW and I got ours 3 days ago. Have done so for the last 6-7 years and so far, have not gotten the flu (knock, knock, K N O C K on wood). When the wife was teaching full time, she was always around students and bringing weirdo bugs home (and that isn't s slam on students....can happen anywhere at anytime). It was the nature of the beast so any precautions we could do, we did and continue the trend.

Don't forget parvo!

I haven't gotten a flu shot and don't plan on it. I don't work around people and that has kept me safe. I've only had one cold during the past six years.

Funny, we took the dog and cats to the vet for Rabies shots the same day as we got flu shots! I sure hope they didn't get the shots mixed up!

I work for the fire dept and they're always offered, I declined. Well, August 26th I got hit with the flu. Worst ever of my life, I didn't even look at my celll phone for 9 days and if you knew me you'd be floored by that alone. It took the better part of a month until I was completely recovered. The shot this year is pretty on the mark for the strain going around. I'm getting mine tonight. When you think about it, what kills us as we get older.....flu and pneumonia. Get em!

I got a flu shot for years and caught at least 4 colds every year. I stopped getting the flu shot for 5 years and not a single cold. I got a flu shot last year because I was going to Korea and flu was very bad there. Two months after getting the flu shot I caught a cold. I have asked two doctors and a nurse if there is any connection and they have no comment. I did get the flu one year. It was one of the years I did get the flu shot.
I will forgo the flu shot.

I have done a flu shot every year for many years. No illness to speak of, so appears to work for me. Planning to get stuck this weekend.

Got one every year when I was on active duty...orders, you know.

Haven't gotten one for years since then.

Got a grandson a year and a half ago. Woohoo!!!!

I've been advised that I could be contagious for 24 hours prior to displaying any symptoms and risk infecting the little guy.

Got my flu shot yesterday...orders, you know.

Take care,
Stu
