I don't know if this has ever been posted here but a couple years ago I came across a "game" on within Google maps and found it a lot of fun, It is called "Geoguesser"

You travel the world through Google maps. The catch is you are put somewhere in the world in street view and you can travel up and down the road to try to figure out where in the world you're located.
At the bottom of the main screen are more specific maps (Canada, USA, other countries, Paris, NYC, others cities.) which you can do the same thing. Once you think you know where you are you click on a smaller map (bottom right of screen) which you can zoom into and make a guess on your location. It then will tell you how close your guess is. I came within a couple hundred feet of my a few times. I have spent hours with this on a rainy day and found it very enjoyable. Thought I would share here on iRV2. Helpful hints: Look for any type signs. then if city mentioned pull up 2nd window and search for that city. Used google translater a couple times. Don't need account to play single player. There is a challenge mode but never played it (need to sign up for account to use CM) but is free to my knowledge.
Anyway, if anyone wants to give it a shot or spend a rain day exploring the world, the url is:

Enjoy of you decide to play
