Forums for orphans

We need a forum for the folks that own RVs that are now orphans. My Carriage Cameo was made an orphan at the end of last year. Prior RVs we have owned that were orphans were an Avion 5th wheel, Silver Streak trail, and an Avion travel trailer.

It would give us a place to commiserate with each other over the demise of a great RV.

Ken

Now wouldn't almost all of us qualify as orphans? As soon as you leave the dealership your on your own!

Nope, I mean the ones that went belly up and out of business.

There are many of out here with RVs and Coaches that no longer have manufacture support. How many of you even know what a Cayo was??
I am fortunate. My current antique coach is a GMC. A real GMC (TZE) not a coach built on a GMC truck chassis. They went out of production about 35 years ago, but we have enough following to have some well developed supporting suppliers.

Not everybody is that fortunate. I know or owners of Clark/Cortez, Revcon and FMC that are hung up for some seemingly minor part that has them stuck. If there was a forum where help and ideas could be exchanged, it might be a great value to a good number of us.

I would join-I can't find much on our Rockwood and I spied a nice 1980 Foretravel locally here.

Commiserate. (Spelled correctly)

That's about half of what we do here on the forum.
Some of us have been fortunate to get "old", what ever that means. I'm guessing it means age, just not sure what age is "old".

Yes, there are numerous groups on yahoo for older and orphaned RVs. But why not here as well.

Haven't found a single one anywhere (so I started one) for Rockwoods, but If I had my druthers, I would have on on here as well.

Makes me want to get a nice orphan rig, like an old Cortez w/the sewage incinerator. Never had to dump tanks, just drive down the road w/the incinerator going.
I'll bet Bain Capital bought the company and shut it down just to be mean, you know, so people couldn't burn their sewage anymore like decent folk.
Poor orphans.
