Four Americans brutally murdered by somali pirates:
Somali Pirates Kill Four U.S. Hostages - WSJ.com
When is our "government" going to do something about this? How many more people have to die before Washington decides to man up and send in some firepower to deal with the problem? Negotiating and "international cooperation" aren't working. I don't know about you but I am thoroughly disgusted by this.

Especially with the cost of the drones being low (less an 1 million each), there should be several flying over that area 24/7 and when they see something happening, give them a missile shot. They wouldn't even know what happened.

Specops had a bad day there while wild Bill C. was commander in chief. The rangers took a good licking and a few of our real snake eaters lost there lives after taking a whole whack of shinnies lives. That administration did not have the stomach for that sort of thing, as well as the country as it seams.

Anyone beside me wonder why those four people put themselves in that position? Would anyone think that was a good idea? Haven't we all heard about what's been going on over there? It's a tragedy and it didn't have to happen but they made a poor decision and it's not our government's fault.

So-they were just another target to hit. In the meantime those pirates will pick on another big ship after they realize this shooting of a yacht was bad press. This piracy mode involves a lot of shipping companies, and I'd think countries involved would be interested in stopping this rampage. Did you notice how fast those teenyboppers surrendered when the Navy guys rushed the yacht? They gave up fast or they would of drowned. It works when you show them the force.

JMHO we should take and carpet bomb every port of Somalia taking every floating craft. This would take care of the Pirates. They have nothing to come out to sea. Ships have no problem.

Last I heard, they 'give up quickly' because nothing happens to them... Just have their guns taken and then returned to Somalia.
Should dump a few in the ocean and then see what happens...

Don't know where those missionaries were when hi-jacked, but they weren't bothering nobody... It was just their time...

Sorry Bob, I can't buy that argument. From what I understand they were hundreds of miles offshore in international waters. Using your logic, none of us should ever travel through a city at night, stop at a rest area or travel alone. This was plain old thuggery and this administration hasn't got the stones to do anything about it. It is absolutely the government's fault.

I'm getting really P.O'd about this Somalia garbage. We're NOT supposed to put up with this. If you were ever in the Marine Corps you would know about the "shores of Tripoli". Pirates and their leaders get the big A kicking. You cannot allow this to happen. Watching all the "civilized" talk makes me sick.
This past President's day I watch the History channel for as long as I could stand it. They were yakking it up about how we can see everything everywhere with our great technology. Spy satellite that can see through clouds and even into the ground to find hidden bunkers. They showed President Bush demanding to see the Afganistan leader face to face instead of over the phone. Tons of "high tech" equipment so we can monitor EVERYTHING in real time. Well? Just what is going on? Are we too busy to wipe out a few "fast" boats? They know where they are based. Are they having a hard time finding Puntland? Maybe they need Street Atlas to find Eyl ? Are we worried about disrupting their economy?
I'm FED up. Seems our "leaders" don't know what our traditions are. Thomas Jefferson found out to stop puss-y footing around and send in the Marines. We don't even have to send ONE Marine if you believe all the high tech supposedly real hype.
Since they understand violence GIVE IT TO THEM. I don't care that the great UN which does NOTHING recognizes Somalia as a country. It is not.

You're right about my logic. There are parts of cities that I don't drive through at night, there are rest stops in areas that I'm leery of, and there are places no one should go alone. If I make a poor decision and end up suffering the consequences then I accept the responsibility and don't lay it off on others. I've never had anyone to blame but myself.

Remember "Black Hawk Down?"
Nothing done then, nothing will be done now. It's just the way it is.
It's like giving all that money to foreign aid when our own country is struggling?
It's all pathetic.
