Montana LLC. That's pretty much it. The vehicle is owned by a corporation, not by you.

The other sticking point for Georgia is that the value is NOT what you paid for the vehicle, it is what THEY TELL YOU that it is worth. Trying to register a 15 year old car with 300k miles on it (of course it was a diesel), they tried telling me that the value was $8500. I laughed right in her face and told her if that was true, pay me that right now and you can HAVE it!

Eventually did get the value adjusted, but their "process" is you pay the demanded amount IN FULL and THEN you get to appeal it... Took close to 5 months.

No way I'd do that with any RV.

Move to Fa. 225 reg of vehicle one time fee plus 2 dollars for each lien. Up to 78$ depending on weight. You can see complete list of fees on their site. You might be able to rent a spot in storage area as you address.[emoji12]

For those of us in Georgia who buy a new vehicle and keep it 10+ years, this new tax system works out great. We had to pay the sales tax before anyway.

My Grand Design fifth wheel stays in our campground storage lot all year, and it's never been to our home state of Alabama. I couldn't title or license it in Georgia because I have no GA driver's license. I have to pay Alabama personal property taxes (ad valorem) on it yearly, however I'm thankful sales taxes were only 2 1/2% when it was new versus 6% sales taxes in Georgia.

The states will always get you coming or going.
