Here in western Ky. diesel is $3.98-$4.09 and gas is $3.23-$3.29

In Pasadena, Ca today I saw a Shell station getting $5.15 for Diesel. And for that you don't even get a kiss.

According to the newspaper our fuel is being shipped overseas due to the higher prices there, which lowers the supply here, driving prices up here.
No corporate greed here!!
Gas 3.599
Diesel 4.199

Diesel is $3.79 in Mesa. The difference is called state greed = taxes. Blame your idiot legislators, not Exonmobile.

I'v often wondered why diesel prices are higher than gasoline. At one time this was not the case. Diesel was cheaper because it had a simpler refining process (came out of the lower section of the cracking tower... Or so I'm told).
So why is diesel higher? Well, it all about supply and demand and the fact that diesel is more of a commercial fuel and gasoline is more of a consumer fuel. If the price of gasoline goes up, consumers can and will just stay at home more. If the price of diesel goes up, well the fleet owner is not going to shut down his delivery business, he'll just keep buying diesel and pass that increased cost along to the consumers. So in summary, the reason diesel is higher, is because fleet owners have no choice but to pay it.
That's the way I see it. That and a buck might buy you a cup of coffee!

sounds like weuns need to go back to KY. and see if this beast will burn good ol double run mooon s. if not at least would make us happy. the C.Woods. 2007 HR. WITH 400 HP GOBBLER IN THE BUTT END.

Blame the EPA for higher diesel fuel prices. Since the EPA mandated Ultra Low Sulfer Diesel fuel, they have to make Diesel out of a higher grade oil stock that costs more. The higher sulfer content crude is cheaper feed stock.
BTW... A LOT of oil comes from overseas, be we have a lot of refining capacity. Iran (for example) has to import fuel because they cant refine gasoline or Diesel. Tankers come from Europe with gasoline, and leave loaded with Diesel.

Wow I did notice the price this morning when I was out but never seen a price difference of that much. Gas was $3.32 and Diesel was $4.19. Now that really seems odd to be that much out of whack.

Suburbs of Portland, Oregon.....
Gas median is about $3.60, range $3.39 to $3.83.
Diesel median $4.09, range $3.99 to $4.19

Here in the middle of Calif at my local Flying J Reg was $3.67 now $3.59. Diesel was $3.99 now $4.29. I cannot figure it out guess the Quarterly multi billion dollar profit is not adequate.
