At what point do we run out of digital paper jobs and such that penny labor products can only be sold at penny labor prices?

Wait for it; last I heard wages were going down. It's only a matter of time.

I recall a reference to the "Loud suckig noise" that NAFTA would make. Time to buy a really good pair of hearing protectors, folks.

Maybe a good time to change the currency that my 401k is held in:

The Renminbi (Chinese: 人民币) is the official currency of the People's Republic of China (PRC). It is the legal tender in mainland China

Oh, I forgot, retrain so you can perform a desk job that only produces digital paper. At what point do we run out of digital paper jobs and such that penny labor products can only be sold at penny labor prices?
They sell us a bill of goods about our trade agreements, they told us it was to raise the other countries economies so they can buy American goods, but they have destroyed our economy to the point that there will be no middle class. We will soon be totally dependent on the cheap goods manufactured abroad. They have stripped the nation of it's manufacturing base, the only things we will be manufacturing military goods so that we can protect the 1% holdings abroad. These rants are just food for thought.

On the other hand, GE is expanding and modernizing their plant at Bloomington, IN. I think it is 600 new jobs to be added in 2012. They make refrigerators for several different brand names too.

"They............are they not the ONES we ELECTED? " Good point mick.

Bear in mind that I have only seen this on just about every TV news program for the last year or so, with MSNBC leading the "pack" (literally), but it's hard to believe a giant like GE would leave Wisconsin, especially when they have demonstrated just how much they like big Gov't. and big Corporations? That whole State Capital occupation thing was a frightening farce with Unions leading the way. How did People think the "Giants" of Industry were going to react? Unfortunately, the actions of these ultra militant "Groups" often result in short term gain (for them), but longer term pain for everyone else? Tell Boeing how friendly everyone was to them when they tried to build additional facilities in South Carolina, which, by the way, is in the USA? Would the NLRB have approved a move to Mexico instead - probably? The "Middle Class" [moderator edit] would be considered "Upper Class" in many other parts of the World yet they continue to demand more; the heck with our competitive position? I'll understand completely if this gets edited / deleted by the Moderator(s) by the way, but this is a huge, looming issue for North America to deal with, while it still can?

This has been going on since the 1970's. I worked at the Eagle Mountain Mines, located in Desert Center Ca., in 1969 and 70. Kaiser Steel owned the mines and built processing plants that pelletized our raw iron ore in to small ball bearing and then shipped them to Japan for processing. Japan would make bridge, building girders and other types of steel products and ship them back to the U.S. cheaper then we could produce the same products at Kaiser Steel in Fontana, Ca. Sorry Union Guy but this is what broke Kaiser Steel, Betheleham Steel, Pittsburgh Steel. The Union Contract in Fontana allowed top end wages, three month vacations every five years for their workers and top in health insurance...Granted, the companies agreed to these contracts but the greed of the Union Workers are what broke the Company and it continues today in all fields...California Union Retirements have put this state into bankruptsy along with ingnorant, graft corrupted politician's bought and paid for by the Unions. The Wall street protest's along with several other cities are being financed and sponsored by left wing raticals[moderator edit]. It is time for a total change or our Nation is doomed as we know it. Just an old guy venting.

Just a thought, Europe is highly unionized and I don't see Airbus moving to China, Mercedes either? So what is the real problem, could be that European companies feel a sense of nationalism? Don't know but blaming the unions is the easy way out.

Earlier quote on GE website
Quote:
GE started doing business in China as early as 1906 and today runs 36 wholly owned or joint venture companies in China ranging from manufacturing, service, research and development, financial services and sourcing, with a total workforce of over 13,000.
That sucking sound continues......................
