Question Gel coat or clear coat

We have a 2005 River Canyon 5th wheel bought it used.We have had a lot of black streaks especially on front. We used a black streak remover which seemed to be taking off the shiny coat. Are we removing gel coat or a clear coat.Should we continue then wax or stop.

I have a 2007 River Canyon that I purchased a few months ago with the same issue. I was able to remove some with a soft brush and a liquid dish soap/water mix. I am in the same boat as you though. I could not get all the streaks removed, especially, from the side edges of the window and water heater/refrigerator vents. I hope we can get some ideas. I was thinking maybe an automative fiberglass cleaner/polish.

Unless someone did something unusual to your fiver, clear coat is normally only used on full body paint.

We had a boat before the trailer. The best thing to clean the fibreglass and remove spider poop and black streaks is non-skid deck cleaner. It worked great on the boat and now on the tt. It doesn't take off the finish, leaves a little shine, and protects. The one we use is by Starbrite. Before that the stuff we used would remove streaks but also the finish.
