It's not just cheap Walmart stuff and GM cars. A local golf course loaned me a Taylormade RocketBallz driver, on the label "Head Made in China, Shaft Made in China, Assembled in China". Cost $300 US.

Nissans are built in Tennessee. Nissan has its U.S. Headquarters in Tennessee, they build cars in Smyrna, and engines and transmissions in Decherd, just up the road from where I am currently parked.

Toyotas are built in Georgetown, Kentucky.

Like it or not, we now live in a global economy

Don't like it,,,, But America has to come first, but the Politicians and the needs of the Greedy don't see it that way and have been selling us out to many years and in order for the country to get back on top this has got to stop.....

Cheaper fuel is just under our feet if the politicians will allow us to get it.

Amen to that,,,,They're just waiting for the best political advantage and payoff to do so!

good lord, GM is making money hand over fist over there. Profits come back here. Why would the TARP money go away when they are making money?

Yes, and the profits from those vehicles goes over seas.
GM, Ford, and Chrysler have many more people working for them per vehicle sold here in the US than the transplant companys.

I belive GM (and Chrysler)has paid back thier TARP money.

With stock that is now worth about $35 BILLION less than we paid for it plus all of the pension benefits assumed by the US citizens. When you buy a Nissan made in TN, the vast bulk of the money you pay goes to the workers at the plant and the workers of the other local folks who are employed by the money they spend. A dollar recycles about 5 times. When VW recently opened a new plant in TN, they had 40,000 people apply for the 6,000 new jobs. The other transplants have very satisfied workers and huge waiting lists for employment. The transplants now represent nearly 50 % (and growing) of the US auto workers.

The oil companies are like the oil cartels "control the supply you control the price" they will pump when the profit is high enough. Not the governments doing!

Of course this isn't the case. Energy companies large and small are drilling like crazy on private land in places like ND and TX for oil and places like OH and PA for natural gas. The drilling and pumping on public lands onshore and offshore is withering due to long delays in permitting. Blaming the oil companies is an old tired, excuse that just hides the real solutions. The government hates fossil fuels and wants us to use wind and solar (now up to 2% of our needs and very expense) and drive tiny little tin cans that get 54 mpg.

FYI: There are only two major companies that make club heads in the world, for ALL of the different brands, and both are chinese companies..............just sayin'.............:nonono :

Context??? This is not some reporter, this is the CEO of GM speaking. since they sell far more cars here than they do anywhere else then them moving every thing to china is not good for the people of the US.
