While my sons were growing up, I encouraged them to cheer for any team but the Giants. As a lifelong Giants fan, I had endured a lifetime of heartache (other than the Parcells years) and did not want them to share my pain.

I'm glad they didn't listen to me...

It's amazing what a team can do when they just decide to trust their coaches and play together.

Ther only intelligent thing I heard your presidential hopeful, Newt Gingrich say was, "I have to cheer for the Giants as they beat my Packers." For some unknown reason I had to agree with him.

I am a sports fan and in my unbiased opinion the Pats Coach should have been thrown out of the game a few years back and he should not be involved in professional sports in any way.

It is a game!!!
When the boys were growing up and when playing games would get upset and angry and start yelling I would tell either stop getting upset or stop playing either one. No game is worth all the headache when it goes wrong. If they still played and got upset again I shut the game down. There are other things in this life to get upset about but a GAME is not one of them.
How much did Thom and I watch? Maybe about 3 mins total. We turned the TV on for the first time yesterday just long enough to see it was still going on so we could go to the store for a few things that we needed while most people were not on the road. They are just games, not worth our time to sit for hours in front of the boob tube. If you want to get that involved with someone else doing something go for it but it's not for us. Lots of other things to do for those other hours.

Hooray for the Giants! Looked like NE lost the game as much as the Giants won. Some dumb mistakes like the intentional grounding right off the bat. Bad start for the Pats.

Now on to baseball. Go Yankees!

Man, some pretty intense responses. Feel sorry for the poor guy who is not even allowed to relax and enjoy THE game!

Jeff Foxworthy said it best "If it's the afternoon of the big game and you are shopping, you're either married or gay!"

Just think of how many people lost money in pools because of the safety. I might have, but won't admit it. We are absolute Steeler fans and didn't want NE to win, so we were for the Giants....

I normally "root" against the team that the national media ballyhoos as being the greatest, fastest, smartest, meanest & wiil again let the sun come up tomorrow. Reminds me of the ingreidents of bagged fertilizer-100lbs of 6-12-12 equals 30lbs of usable minerals. Rest is filler. Only a game - not a matter of life or death.
Safe travels
Glad the Giants disapointed the medis.

I thought about it and I think that just as many would have lost money if there wasn't a safety. In a 100 box pool there is 1 winner and 99 losers per quarter no matter what the # is.

Loved it! Pulling for the Giants all the way through the season. New England did not play well at all or they probably would have pulled it off. They never seemed to gel as a team.

Way to go Giants. Congats to the coaching staff and all the players. This is coming from a Packers fan still licking his wounds.

Way long time ago I bout a square on the final game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I ended up with one nothing for Montreal as a score. Well it was the first time in my life I cheered for the Montreal Canadians. About the ten minute market of the first period Montreal scored and that was the only goal, so at the end of the first I won $200.00, at the end of the second I won a further $300.00 and at the end of the game I won the $500.00 too. Not bad for a $10.00 wager.
