good eating

will be in Chicago area next week for four days don't want to do the chain restaurants I know there is some great cuisine/grub up north but never been there yet.
casual is best as clean jeans and tee shirts are our evening wear, local specialties are what I love to try, at other locations I've been to
asked people working in our shops but this going to a navistar school
so none of the people generally live there.
any help would be greatly appreciated by our taste buds

thanks frank

thanks links gave me plenty to chose from, now have get with my traveling companions and chose, just about every thing is thirty minutes or so from the hotel we are staying at which is fine. I am not one to set in a hotel room. It is hard enough to set in a class room for eight hours and I love to check out new places especially on the company's dime
