Good Sams Platinum
Look at this sign up application and see if it makes sense on the longer you sign up the more you save.
Tell me what you think and if it's a good plan.

Hi Perry White,
This is an easy decision. Determine what Coach-Net would charge for the same time periods. Your decision will be clear. Coach-Net also has deals if you sign up through other RV clubs you may belong to (ex. FMCA)

Thanks, Dixie
Back to the thread: Good Sam hasn't done well this year, in the warranty department. It seems they've now stonewalled us and the Indiana Better Business Bureau.
To me, the notion of relying on them for roadside assistance is preposterous.
Any positive experience out there, in 2011, with Good Sam roadside?

I have called them once this year, for a dead battery, and they responded quickly without any problem. Used them a couple of times previously and also received good service. Not to say I won't be comparing them with Coach Net at the upcoming FMCA Reunion in Madison.

We've used them three times. Twice last year. Once to tow my husband's car (came in about 30 min. but we were in town). Once to call for help on a generator issue (their phone tech was great and we solved the issue over the phone). This year we got a tow off of Wolf Creek Pass. It came pretty quick considering our location. I think it took about a hour from when it was called for. The estimate was 1.5 hrs so we were very pleased. All three were no cost to us.
And to answer the original question, no the numbers on that app. don't look right. I would just do the one year and see how you like it.

We pays our monies and we takes our chances...
Good Sam and Campers World are no different than others... their strengths are also very sadly their weakness as well...PEOPLE
When we run across BAD PEOPLE we more easily take the notion that the Organization or Corporation is at fault, its easy to hate a government, a corporation, or an organization than it is to deal with the simple fact revealed by most ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS... failures are 99 % caused by people ! One Butthead Shop Manager in a Campers World Service Dept can do more damage to the organization than one would ever imagine. Dont even start the Salesperson thread here... our WallyWorld 2000 would be passed in a scream !
READ YOUR CONTRACT, pay particular attention to the EXCLUSIONS BLOCK, PARAGRAPH, or VERSE... you can bet that "one step from a tellemarketer" on the other end of the line is gonna know it by heart in their sleep ! And they have been relentlessly trained to use it as often and as liberally as possible. The claims manager gets evaluated not by how helpful his or her people are but by how many, or better still, how few claims are paid in full !
Peratus Emptor (BUYER BEWARE) always applies, ask me how I know !
I do NOT suffer from mental illness but rather enjoy it daily !
