I have been using Coach Net and I like them. I had a broken serpentine belt on the road, and they were extremely reactive to what happened, and I was on the road again, very quickly. I hope I never have to use them again, but it's nice knowing they are there.

Have had both...
good sam
right outside Lafayette, La on I-10 had an explosive blowout on 5er...
they took 30 minutes to find someone that was closer to New Orleans (about 2 hours away)

Thank goodness it was not a truck issue so we were able to idle with ac as it was 90+ degrees...

Coach Net:
New 5er came with first year of Coach net...
rv in the road in front of our house and nothing worked on a Sunday just before we are to leave for 10 days the next morning....
the slides and satellite would not retract,
coach net said you are not a member... nothing we can do !!!
I offered to send them the paperwork where I signed up...and had my member number...

they would do nothing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always kept Good Sam. Glad I Had it. over the years they changed 2 tires on my motor home & 1 on my car. Also 1 Major tow, from Kings Canyon to Fresno for a transmission repair. That tow paid for 10 yrs of GSRA.

Yep, it's not uncommon to get in at a cheap price and pay regular rates on renewal. Kind of like cable service :-)

I complained and initially refused to resign.....They came back and gave me a deal...and if they don't check out coachnet. Everything should be negotiable.

Just got my new Camping World Savings Catalog and on page 25 they have a Roadside Assistance ad for $79.95. It says for First Time Buyers Only !
That's easy, just join Coach Net this year and when they raise their price you will once again be a first time buyer ! Mazel Tov

My wife and I are new to RV'ing We purchased a used MH a 1996 Fleetwood, January of 2014. To make a long story short. I purchased a membership to Good Sam Road side assistance February On our very first trip out. the second day out from home. There we were on Sunday Memorial Day weekend of 2014. Of coarse miles from nowhere on I-90. Broke down! Hot out the generator worked for the first 5 minutes then quit. The first call I made was Good Sam. They gave us a option, one was to wait where we were at till Tuesday. Which was not possible, Second was to be towed home, not a option, Third a tow to the next Camp ground. We choose option 3. $ 600.00 later, on Good Sam. We were towed into A Campground embarrassed. But very pleased with Good Sam!!!

Not sure if it is Good Sam's problem if the wrecker driver is lazy or incompetent. You may encounter one of those types with or without the plan. Not sure who is to blame if you let them tow you to a facility that cannot accommodate tour needs. I have been towed more than once and would not consider being towed to a facility that I had talked to first and was comfortable with their capabilities. I have always found that Good Sams would tow me to the facility of my choice. I just made sure that my choice was pretty close and that I could explain why the closer facilities could not do the job. Take some time on the phone before I call for a tow. I have seen posts on this site that said they expected the tow service to do all that but I trust no one.

I noticed that someone put a link to this "positive about GS" posting that was negative about GS. So to be fair here's the link to the "negative about GS" posting:

Not a happy camper
