Google 411

This was recently sent to me and I thought it was worth passing along to my irv2.com friends....especially those on the road!

This new feature DOES WORK! I viewed the ad by Google and then I made a call from my home phone. I asked for information and the specific business I asked for came up in the listing ....although I hung up before the call was made!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Google has done it again... pass it on!

Not everybody has On Star, etc. or a phone book handy. Look what Google is doing................

Here is something you will want to have and use ! I still remember when the telephone company charged me $1.50 to get a phone number from information. Here's a number worth putting in your cell phone, or your home phone speed dial: 1.800.466.4411

This is an awesome service from Google, and it's free -- great when you are driving on the road with no pen, pencil or paper handy. Don't waste your money on information calls and don't waste your time manually dialing the number. I am driving along in my car and I need to call the golf course and I don't know the number. I hit the speed dial for information that I have programmed.

The voice at the other end says, "City &State." I say, Garland , Texas ."

He says, "Business, Name or Type of Service."

I say, Garland Golf Course." He says, "Connecting" and Garland Golf Course answers the phone.

How great is that? This is nationwide and it is absolutely free!

Click on the link below and watch the short clip for a quick demonstration.

I actually text Google , I not only I get the phone number but also the address. In a text, a phone number is highlited so all one has to do is click the highlite and the phone is ringing. The text address is nice to use for your GPS. Just text Google(466453), Enter Business, City and State.

Putting in my phone address book right now......Thanx....Will come in handy on the road. On returning from camping trips we will stop at a restaurant. But there are times we're not familiar with the area, so this will come in handy.....

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

And if you can't remember the number, try to remember that it is 800,

then GOOG,

then 411

Happy dialing.

You are welcome. Caribiners are starting to come into my trade and I was explaining to one of my apprentices that he had to know how much one Kilonewton was. I texted Google and received the conversion to pounds. So bar arguments have no place any more thanks to Google.

Hi MB,
Thanks for this information. It is going into my wife's cell phone. This is going to be really useful.

Happy dialing.

I'll use my voice recognition software & say "call Google 411" (Google 411 is the way I entered it in my cell) & the phone will call it.

I've been using it for years and love it. It's the first number I put into my address book in my new phone.
