Can always run aground. That will certainly do the trick

A pier with a shopping center is what the Mississippi tow boat captains use. Mid 1990's in New Orleans?

On the way up to Vegas, there is a town (more accurately, a wide spot in the road) called Nowhere. There used to be a store there called The Middle of Nowhere.

Years ago, the museum at the Pueblo Grande Indian ruins in Phoenix was being renovated. Just under the sign saying Pueblo Grande Grande Indian Ruins was another sign saying Closed for Construction.

My parents used to have some desert property that, back then, was way north of Scottsdale. There was a sign in the area that said BEWARE OF BAD WOMAN.

Btw, the river is Agua Fria.
Sure wish I'd seen that sign before I got married the second time.

In the 60s my parents had a friend who had a place in the Anza Borrego called "My Place". Over the bar was a sign that said -- there is no place, like this place, any where near this place, so this must be the place-- or something like that. The 60s were a long time ago! Anyone ever been there?

Heading north on Route 8 coming out of Naugatuck Connecticut there were 2 billboards for seperate advertisements, one on each side of the highway. One said "Complete Cremation Services" On the other billboard it said "Blazing Hot Stoves"

Coming into San Diego, Ca. There is a sign that says "Cruiseships Take Airport Exit"

In Main we saw a couple of interesting road signs: "The Road Less Traveled" & "The Long and Winding Road".

You KNOW you are lost when the co pilot has to lean out to read the signs....

And a warning sign on State rt 905 in San Diego, just north of the border. Don't run over the families...

How about great Town names!

A great place to visit in the summer time is Newfoundland, Labrador, Canada. Some actual town names are as follows:

Hearts Desire; Hearts Delight, Hearts Content. Joe Batts Arm. These are actual towns!!

I have a picture of my wife sitting under a sign advertising the town. Its name is Dildo, Newfoundland!!!!

Enjoy,

Knightly

Uh, that is the pilot leaning out checking the signs. Methinks he should be very very aware of his immediate surroundings.

Yes, but given this forum I thought Co-pilot was funnier.

He was lifting a/c units to the roof of the building.

Not really road signs, but graffiti painted on railroad bridges over ROADS. My 2 local favorites:

"I love her cuz she's my girl"
"Puppy, we miss you"
