Not a sign. but relates to speed checked by airplane

Two California Highway Patrol Officers were conducting speeding enforcement on I-15, just north of the Marine Corps Air Station at Miramar Naval Air Station. One of the officers was using a hand held radar gun to check speeding vehicles approaching the crest of a hill.

The officers were suddenly surprised when the radar gun began reading 300 miles per hour. The officer attempted to reset the radar gun, but it would not reset and then turned off.

Just then a deafening roar over the treetops revealed that the radar had in fact locked on to a USMC F/A-18 Hornet which was engaged in a low flying exercise near the location.

Back at the CHP Headquarters the Patrol Captain fired off a complaint to the USMC Base Commander.

The reply came back in true USMC style:

Thank you for your letter. We can now complete the file on this incident. You may be interested to know that the tactical computer in the F-18 Hornet had detected the presence of, and subsequently locked on to, your hostile radar equipment. The Hornet automatically sent a jamming
signal back to your radar gun, which is why it shut down.

Furthermore, an Air-to-Ground missile aboard the fully armed aircraft had also automatically locked on to your equipment location.

Fortunately, the Marine Pilot flying the Hornet recognized the
situation for what it was, quickly responded to the missile system alert status and was able to override the automated defense system before the missile was launched to destroy the perceived hostile radar position.

The pilot suggests you cover your mouths when cussing at them, since the video systems on these jets are very high tech. Sergeant Johnson, the officer holding the radar gun, should get his dentist to check his left rear molar. It appears the filling is loose. Also, the snap is broken on his holster.

Thank you for your concern. Semper Fi

I was born 15 miles from that sign. There is water there,
alot of rain, not much sun, and alot of fog. That's why
I now live on the other side of the cascades. Thanks
for the sign.

This set cracked me up. It is 2 Churches arguing over dogs going to Heaven. Hopefully it loads good. I received it via e-mail.

Guess not here is what the boards said over the course of several weeks:

Catholic Church: "All Dogs go to Heaven"

Presbyterian Church: "Only humans go to Heaven Read the Bible"

Catholic Church: "God loves all his creatures dogs included"

Presbyterian Church: "Dogs do not have souls, this is not open for debate"

Catholic Church: "Catholic dogs go to Heaven, Presbyterian dogs can talk to their Pastor"

Presbyterian Church: "Converting to Catholocism does not automatically grant your dog a soul"

Catholic Church: "Free dog souls with conversion"

Presbyterian Church: "Dogs are animals...There aren't any rocks in Heaven either"

Catholic Church: "All rocks go to Heaven"

the end...

Fred,
We have been going to Grayland State Park on the Washington coast for a number of years, located just south of that sign (see earlier post). More often then not the area lived up to its name. Frequently gray and cloudy. We now go to Banks Lake State Park "on the other side of the cascades", in Eastern Washington, for at least one week each year, so we can count on some sunshine!

I see this everytime they build a new Dick's Sporting Goods store somewhere. They put up a sign that says:

Another "Dick's Coming Soon"

We used to have a nightclub here that was called Whiskey Dick's. They had these radio commercials where at the end of the commercial, a girl would say (in a sexy voice): "Ummmm, Whiskey Dick's... Where at least the drinks are stiff."
