I've heard worse singing. It's called being creative. Now it so happens I like Tom Waits. There's some bad singing but very creative.

I don't care for Maddona but the half time show really impressed me. That took a lot of work and rehearsal.

I'm always amazed at how fast they can get those stages out on the field and then off again.

Didn't care for the creative singing of the national anthem. Yes, IMHO, the 5 year old would have done a better job. Ye gods, a 2 hour pre-game and all the screwing around is nothing but a big time sucker for an hour of actual play time. How many billions did NBC pay to "show" the game. Had to sell a lot commercial time to pay off the teams, etc.. Ended up reading a book on my Kindle.

I didn't get to see the start of the game so I guess I didn't miss much as far as the pregame program.

Dont care for the sport because as I understand it. it takes 3-4 hours to play an actual 20 min of football. with all the time outs and penalties, injuries, commercials etc I call it one big bore.. My wife however loves it and wont miss a Broncos game..(on tv). But to each his own. As far as the "signing" goes if your talking about the National Anthem it should be sung the way it was meant to be not the way entertainers want their rendition to be heard.

+1 on that. It's not about their so called talent, it's about our nation. Have some respect for it.

I can't remember how we watched TV before remote controls with a mute button.

To me, the performance of our National Anthem is more about what is in the heart of the performer than how well it is sung. I thought Steven Tyler sang it with patriotism and love of country in his heart. Many people criticized his performance, but I though he nailed it, and it gave me goose bumps, like it should.

On the other hand, Roseanne Barr sang it with contempt, and it was awful, shameful, and unforgivable.

I did not see who sung it at the Super Bowl. But if they sang it with conviction, love of country, and patriotism in their heart, then it was beautiful. If *I* stood up and sang it at the game, *I* would be criticized because I really (really) can't sing. That would be no reason to hang my head in shame.

Count me in as another who HATES the "stylizing" of our National Anthem. It should be sung as written, with love and respect. I did enjoy the singing of America the Beautiful before the Super Bowl, though. (IMO, that should be the Anthem anyhow. )

I watched highlights of Super Bowls from 1966 thru '84...nostalgic, entertaining, and reminded me of simpler times.

I'm for traditional, but when a performer sings their heart out, and it comes out a little "stylized", so be it.

I thought the singing was tastefully done and given the fact they were LIVE; It was done exceptionally well. But that's just my opinion.
