Did you see the advertisement for Pizza Pizza (what the heck pizza co is that) They have a bacon wrapped crust pizza now. OK, I have to try that too. Extra cholesterol pill and then try that.

Enjoy your bacon all, Lynne
Pizza Pizza=Little Caesars. Back in the 80's they adopted that slogan because you got 2 for 1 every time.

I've done the fries. Simple really but it does take some time.

Put a package of bacon on the cutting board and cut the strips in half. Wrap a 1/2 strip around each fry and place on a flat baking sheet. When you put the baking sheet in the oven prop up the back just a little bit to allow for drainage and put another backing sheet with a rim under it to catch the grease. This way you don't get grease soaked fries.

Bake as you would the fries alone but turn them about 1/2 way through so the bacon is crispy all around.

As to the cholesterol pill you are aware those things cause memory loss, right? DW's mom was on those things. Memory was terrible, we thought she was getting Alzheimers. I had read about a study showing statins cause memory loss. Took her off statins and in a few months she was back to normal.

Also for men, if you get your cholesterol to the levels they tell you, your risk of colon and prostate cancer goes up by as much as 300%. Given that, I'll take my chances with the cholesterol which has pretty much been the same my whole life. Every time the doctor even brings up the test I say "if you need to for your own reasons fine, but I will not take statins."

Salt is not the cause of nor does it elevate high blood pressure. That has recently been proven to be hogwash too.

Exercise and get that heart moving. Eat real food. Olive oil or animal fat not corn, canola or vegetable oil. Butter not margarine. Avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup at all costs. That stuff made me fat and type II diabetic. Blood sugar over 550 and A1C 9.8. Dropped all HFCS, veggie oils and dairy except cheese and cream for my coffee. Lost 120 lbs and no longer take diabetic medicine.

Sorry to get on a health rant, but we were lied too our whole lives about this stuff. Still being lied to about HFCS. Read the truth here. It ain't "just like real sugar", which has it's own issues.

Finally, unless you have kidney issues, bacon is good for ya.

This was the base recipe I used.

Ingredients

2 medium sweet potatoes, cut into matchsticks (width of your pinky finger)
8 oz bacon (don’t use thick cut)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 420°F and place oven rack in the center of the oven

Slice each piece of bacon in half lengthwise, and then in half width-wise

(you’ll have 4 strips cut from 1 piece of bacon)

Wrap 1 strip of bacon around 1 matchstick sweet potato

(it should look like a candy cane…hello meat candy)

Place wrapped sweet potatoes on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper (safe in oven to 420°F)

If you have left over sweet potatoes toss them on the pan too, they cook beautifully.

Bake for 15 minutes or until the sweet potatoes feel soft

Then broil until the tops get crispy

Let cool slightly and ENJOY!
