Hippey's hotdogs (Denver Meats, Denver PA) are awesome by themselves because of the high quality meat they use and the gentle smoking process.
Wrap them in bacon, and.....

You have captured the bacon spirit. Life is too short to go baconless and for savory deserts.

That was a great time there. And not really my philosophy not to share bacon but I thought the image was funny.

Have to find another good source to buy in bulk. That meat market down in Apollo Beach was a great find, selling bacon like you sell all meats, by the pound and they had many, many pounds just stacked up in the display waiting for bacon lovers!

I could get in touch with a local processor, Hertels Meats, and see if I can buy in bulk. Their bacon is great and we use it for special events.

I think it depends on what threat level the crossing agent feels when you are being interviewed. All the goodies Denise was planning to use in Tucson was left home when she read what was and what wasn't allowed across your border. Was she ever upset when we were not asked a single question about foodstuffs.
She left behind
1) 4 fillets Fresh frozen (vacuum wrapped) Spring (King) Salmon
2) Home made antipasto
3) home made strawberry, raspberry and fruit preserves or jams
4) 21 pounds of restaurant bacon in a sealed box.
5) locally raised beef steaks (for me)
6) a couple cases of a Shiraz we made ourselves
All that because a friend informed her of the web site stating what we could or couldn't take with us.

They opened a new dining room at work the other day. On the new sandwich bar they have a product called "Bacon Jam" and OMG. the stuff is wonderful.
It is ground up bacon, onions, and whatever the sauce is, it is just wonderful on a sandwich.
Wish they would tell us what it has in it, cause I could eat it by the spoon full.
Got to love bacon!
