Post Hot Water Tank

The Wife in I just got back from a trip. In Springfield IL .in are Hot Water tank quick working. We thank God for the Shower they had at the camp site. We spent 4 nights at Double J campground there off of I55. Now we are home, but I have to try to see what I can do about the hot water tank. It wasn't getting water in it so I don't know. But I will try to figure it out. But I will take any help

what brand is it?
if you are suddenly not getting any hot water out of the tank, the problem is likely one or both of the check valves on the back of the tank. if you winterized the system, there is a valve that may not be positioned correctly.
on my rv, the check valves are difficult but possible to reach. you may need a mirror to find them initially.
if the check valves are plastic, they can be taken apart and the spring and check valve piece can be removed and the device reassembled. there is info on this forum as to the purpose of these check valves.
camco makes brass check valves. they cost about $10 each. female pn- 88203213, male 23303.
it is important to turn off the power to the ac element before working on the water heater. the element will burn out immediately if there is power to it with no water in the tank.
