I'm on the California side of the river at River Lodge, about 1/2 mile north of Buckskin SP.
The way the weather pattern is being shown on the television , I expect to see snow on Monkey Head, directly across the river from my site.
One forecaster says, 2" of snow in Vegas for New Years, and they're taking bets on it.

A lot of my neighbors here are from the island, Parksville, Lake Cowichan, and we hear of the weather there often; like the snow at the Malahat summit the other day.

Alaska Weather

In Anchorage Alaska at 9:15am the outside temp is 32 deg. We have had one of the warmest winters in state history.

37f, with wind chill only 27 in Parker Dam CA.
Snow flurries reported as close as the I-40 bridge crossing the Colorado River. 50 miles to the north; too close for comfort.
